About us

Small classes, qualified instructors, and a genuine understanding of how toddlers actually learn.

Children playing together in a bright open space

Our approach

We started Toddler Yoga because we couldn't find a class that genuinely understood both yoga and early childhood development. Most yoga classes for children are just scaled-down adult sessions — slower, simpler, but still built around the expectation that a child will follow instructions for an hour. That's not realistic for under-fours.

Our sessions work differently. We build yoga poses into games, songs, and stories that toddlers already enjoy. When a child pretends to be a cat and stretches their back, they're doing Cat-Cow pose without knowing it. When they blow imaginary bubbles, they're practising diaphragmatic breathing. The learning happens through play, not discipline.

Qualifications and training

All our instructors hold a minimum 200-hour yoga teaching qualification alongside Level 3 early years education certification. We're fully DBS checked, paediatric first aid trained, and insured for teaching children under five.

We also undertake ongoing professional development in areas like sensory processing, neurodiverse learning styles, and trauma-informed practice. Every child is different, and our training reflects that.

Class sizes and safeguarding

We cap every session at 8 children to ensure each little one gets individual attention. A parent or carer must stay in the room throughout — our classes are participatory, not drop-off. This keeps children comfortable and gives grown-ups techniques they can use at home.

We hold current public liability insurance, maintain a written safeguarding policy, and follow local authority guidelines for working with young children.
